Toilet Bowl Installation
A properly functioning toilet is a cornerstone of modern sanitation. When it’s time to replace or install a new toilet bowl, follow these steps:
- Choose the Right Toilet: Select a toilet that fits your bathroom layout and meets your water efficiency goals.
- Remove the Old Toilet: Turn off the water supply, drain the tank, and disconnect the water supply line. Remove the old toilet and scrape off the wax ring and old flange bolts.
- Prepare the Flange: Ensure the toilet flange is in good condition. Replace it if necessary.
- Wax Ring Placement: Install a new wax ring on the flange. This creates a watertight seal.
- Position the Toilet: Carefully place the toilet bowl over the wax ring and align it with the flange bolts.
- Secure and Seal: Secure the toilet in place by tightening nuts onto the flange bolts. Don’t overtighten, as this can crack the toilet bowl. Seal the base with a silicone caulk for added waterproofing.
- Connect Water Supply: Reconnect the water supply line and turn on the water. Check for any leaks around the base and fix them if necessary.
